Step 3 · Position, Press, and Secure

Now for the satisfying part of this easy DIY stair remodel! Carefully place the tread onto the stair, making sure it's perfectly centered and aligned. Once you're happy with the placement, apply firm, even pressure starting from the center of the tread and smoothing your hands out toward the edges. This technique pushes out any trapped air, creating a solid, gap-free bond between the tread and the stair. Pay special attention to the edges to ensure they are fully secured.
