Showing 2:00–2:05 of the source video.
What happens in this clip
After the entire stenciled floor is completely dry (allow at least 24-48 hours for the paint to cure), apply 2-3 coats of water-based polyurethane. This protective layer will seal the paint, protect the floor from wear and tear, and make it easier to clean. Use a clean paint roller or applicator specifically designed for polyurethane, following the manufacturer's instructions for application and drying times between coats.

About the full video
This project guides you through stenciling a floor with a multi-color Granada tile pattern. It covers preparing the surface with primer and a base coat, applying the stencil with adhesive, using a specialized stenciling technique with multiple paint colors, repeating the pattern across the floor, and finally protecting the finished design with polyurethane.
Step 6 of 6: Apply Protective Topcoat (Optional)
If desired for extra durability in a high-traffic area, apply one or two thin coats of a clear water-based polyurethane or a durable acrylic sealer. Use a high-quality synthetic brush and apply evenly. Allow each coat to dry completely as per the product instructions before applying the next coat or allowing foot traffic.
