Connect Sensors and Finalize Wiring

From Staircase Lighting · Step 5 of 7 · Video by Automation Dude

What happens in this clip

Connect the Lux sensor and PIR motion sensors. The Lux sensor is plugged into one of the 'Lux Input' ports (C or D) at the front of the controller. Next, connect the two PIR motion sensors. One PIR sensor is plugged into 'PIR Input A', and the other PIR sensor is plugged into 'PIR Input B'. These connections are simple plug-and-play. Finally, connect the Pixel LED strip's power connector to its adapter, completing all the wiring. Once wiring is complete, refer to the user manual or the video's explanation for setting up the physical installation of the LED strips and sensors on a staircase for optimal performance, though this physical installation is not explicitly demonstrated.

Goal: Connect the Lux and PIR sensors to the controller and complete all wiring.

About the full video

This project provides a comprehensive guide on setting up and programming an automatic stair light controller. It involves unpacking the controller and its components, wiring the power supply, connecting an RGB Pixel LED strip, and attaching motion (PIR) and light intensity (Lux) sensors. The instructions detail how to program various settings such as LED quantity, color mode, speed, time delay, and brightness, culminating in a demonstration of the motion and light-sensitive stair lighting system.

Step 5 of 7: Wire Motion Sensors and Power Supply

Wire the motion sensors according to their manufacturer's instructions. Typically, the sensor will be connected between the power supply and the LED strips. Ensure correct polarity. The power supply will then be connected to a mains power source.
